Kidnappers of Uduaghan’s cousin demand N50m ransom

Asaba— SUSPECTED kidnappers of a cousin to Delta State Governor, Pa Sam Uduaghan, have asked for N50 million ransom.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Charles Muka, told Vanguard, yesterday, “they (kidnappers) said they are demanding N50 million ransom. But we are on their trail. We are seriously on them. I can assure you, we are on top of it.”

Pa Uduaghan, 70 years old was abducted from his Direct Labour Street, residence in Asaba on Wednesday, daring the heavy security presence of police in Asaba, as a result of visit of the Acting Inspector General of Police, IG, Mohammed Abubakar.

Governor Uduaghan had disagreed with the IG on the total ban of road blocks as kidnappers have easy passage in and out of the state.

Gunmen abduct Uduaghan’s cousin



Despite the presence of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, in Asaba, Delta State on Wednesday, gunmen abducted Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s cousin, Sam.

According to eyewitnesses, Pa Uduaghan was forced into his Toyota Camry Car at the gate of his house on DLA Road, Asaba, by the hoodlums, who reportedly stormed the house with an unmarked Sports Utility Vehicle.

The incident took place just as the IG was addressing journalists on the efforts of the force to curb crime in the state at the Presidential Lodge where he formerly presented the rescued footballer, Christian Obodo.

However, family sources said the kidnappers were yet to
