Glamorous opening of Big Brother Africa 7 tagged "The Stargame"

The journey of 91 days in which attitude, friendship and emotions will be put to test, has just begun. The glamorous opening of Big Brother Africa 7 tagged "The Stargame" was graced by DSTV Channel 198 this evening, May 6, 2012. Fans were in a state of frenzy to meet housemates from fourteen African countries through which a winner for the contest will emerge.

THE HOST:

Ikponmwosa Osakioduwa:

The undenialably talented 32-year-old sleek and smooth talking Nigerian is simply called IK. BBA fans first met IK in 2009 when he took over from Kabelo Ngakane by hosting BBA 4. As the official host of BBA, his energy, skills and captivating sense of humour has thrilled audiences across Africa and won him over to BBA producers, fans and housemates.

Charming, articulate and easy going IK returns for the fourth time to anchor The Stargame. "I am not surprised he has come this far in his career because I remember listening to his programme on radio and believe me, he is good" recalls Jennifer Akpan, a marketer with a first generation bank.

He studied Economics in the University of Lagos where he started his career professionally in the television industry on a show called "Campus Circuit" which aired on African Independent Television (AIT). After graduating from school in 2001, he worked for Silverbird's Rhythm 93.7fm as a presenter and he was known as "The Wild Child" as a result of his mischievous and humorous attitude.

As an ace presenter, he has anchored lots of shows and programmes including M-NET's Studio 53, Comedy Live Lagos and the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria. "He is so cute and to top it all, he is six feet tall" said Faith Obong, a reporter. As a multiple award winning presenter, he is at the peak of his career.

THE ARTISTES:

Jermaine Lamar Cole:

He is a determined, creative and gifted Grammy nominated rapper popularly called J Cole. Born January 28, 1985, he had a passion for music at a very tender age which he explored and developed. Based in New York, his debut album "The Sideline Story" has gained him worldwide attention.

He has collaborated with stars like Beyonce, Missy Eliot, Trey Songz, Drake among others. He is the major reason why Stargame was chosen as the tag for this year's edition of BBA as he is scheduled to perform for the first time in Africa with some of his hit tracks at the grand opening of the show.

Born November 1, 1990 in Angola, he was called nobody at home because his mother had lost three children and nobody knew if he would die or survive. He got his name from his record label, Power House, and his hit track 'Windek' shot him to stardom.

Camp Mulla:

They are Kenyan hip hop group on the performing artistes list for BBA 7 opening. This will not be the first time as they have shared the stage with big names such as P Square, Naeto C and Flavour. They are one of the most exciting upcoming groups in Kenya.

Aemo' E Face:

No doubt, this year's edition is going to be very explosive as Big Brother Africa are known to have the 'magic wand' to keep viewers glued to their TV sets throughout the duration of the show and you can count on us to bring you the dramas as they unfold.

As we wait on the unveiling of housemates and the attendant razzmatazz, we wish them (all housemate) a swell time in the Big Brother Africa's house.
