FIRE DAMAGES TYLER PERRY STUDIOS IN GEORGIA
Popular comic actor/director Tyler Perry‘s Atlanta studio complex has been severely damaged in a fire.
According to reports, the fire started around 9pm on Tuesday May 1, 2012 and one of the buildings has partially collapsed.
The 60 acre studio, where Perry films his famous ‘Madea’ movies, includes five soundstages, a back-lot, and the director’s offices.
The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department released a statement, claiming the fire was brought under control around 9:45, just an hour after fire-fighters arrived.
According to the statement, the blaze was so severe a fourth alarm had to be called. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
